A serious hardtail for kids serious about their mountain biking
If your passion is seeking out the gnarliest singletrack then look no further than the Creig. Designed exclusively for young riders looking for top performance every component has been chosen to perfectly match the rider's proportions.
An elite experience
Islabikes’ expertise in understanding how to perfectly position a smaller body on a bike comes directly from our years of experience taking part in elite level competition. We know how a competitive off-road bike needs to feel and perform. The Creig’s aluminium 7005 series T6 heat-treated frame is our own exclusive design and features a new profile to the down tube. This gives excellent fork clearance and increased strength at the front end. All Creigs feature adjustable air-sprung front suspension with external rebound and hydraulic lockout, which is specially tuned to respond in harmony with a lightweight rider.
Big ideas for smaller riders
The Creig is fitted with a SRAM twist shifter, which provides smaller hands with better control. Paired with the new SRAM GX T2 clutch rear mechanism, the combination provides slick and precise shifting regardless of terrain. Just like the Pro Series, a custom single 1x10 chainset gives aspiring young riders a wide range of gears perfect for technical climbs and flowing descents. The new 104 BCD narrow/wide aluminium chainring ensures excellent retention if the singletrack gets rough whilst offering the flexibility to fine tune gearing.
Control and comfort
The Creig’s custom-made super slim handlebar and grips keep hands safe and perfectly placed. The bars are wide enough to help control the bike over technical terrain but also narrow enough to suit shorter arms. The 60mm ‘flip flop’ stem allows the handlebar to be positioned either higher for a relaxed trail adventure or lower for a more race-orientated riding position. Our new, very low Q factor cranks provide an ultra-narrow distance between the pedals, offering an even more comfortable and efficient pedalling action and greater lean when cornering.
In the saddle
Our Islabikes saddles are properly proportioned for narrower hips, providing comfortable support and good positioning without unnecessary bulk. Perfect too when riding out of the saddle as the rider can easily slip back over the rear wheel keeping the bike balanced on descents.
Light on the up, steady on the down
The Creig’s super light and strong alloy disc-specific wheel rims are built with lighter gauge stainless steel spokes. This guarantees a light responsive feel when climbing and complete control when descending. Now fitted with Vee Tyre Crown Gem 2.2 these tyres are ideal for mountain biking and offer excellent grip and control across a variety of surfaces and terrains.
