The Cnoc Range
Sizing for your Cnoc
To ensure your Cnoc is a safe and comfortable fit please see our size guide below.
Approx min age Min inside leg Max inside leg Approx min height Cnoc 14 Small 3+ 34cm 42cm 92cm Cnoc 14 Large 3+ 38cm 48cm 98cm Cnoc 16 4+ 42cm 52cm 104cm Cnoc 20 4+ 47cm 57cm 110cm
How to measure height:
- Ask your child to remove their shoes and stand straight, with their back against a wall.
- Place a book on their head so that it touches the wall.
- Make sure your child still has their heels on the ground, then mark with a pencil where the bottom of the book touches the wall.
- Measure from the mark to the floor.
How to measure inside leg:
- Ask your child to take off their shoes and stand straight, with their back against a wall.
- Place a book between their legs and slide it up the wall to meet the crotch firmly as if they are sat on a saddle.
- Make sure your child still has their heels on the ground, then mark with a pencil where the top of the book the touches the wall.
- Measure the distance from that mark straight down to the floor.
Why is sizing so important?
With the correct size bike, your child will develop their cycling skills quickly, easily and safely whilst being more comfortable on their bike. Not only does this help increase confidence and boost their self-esteem but, best of all, it means they can start riding straight away.

Choose your new Cnoc
Light, perfectly proportioned and confidence inspiring
The lightweight Cnoc is designed to ensure its riders excel from the first pedal stroke. Its aluminium frame is not simply a cut down adult frame, we remove as much weight as possible by designing it specifically for the size of child who will ride it, creating Cnocs that are as easy to pedal as they are to pick up.
Our extensive research shows learning to ride is easier in an upright position than in a bent over racy one. Sitting upright gives a much greater sense of security for starter riders. But also, certain organs in young kids’ tummies are almost as big as a fully-grown adult’s, which is why toddlers’ tummies stick out. Bending forward can be uncomfortable for a young rider so we design our frames to position our unique handlebars higher than the saddle to provide an easy upright riding position.
The Cnoc’s low centre of gravity reduces wobble and allows small children to get the balls of their feet down to stop but still have the saddle at the correct height for a nicely stretched pedal stroke. Its lightweight chromoly forks smooth out the ride and have a superior fatigue life compared to aluminium.
Confident stopping creates confident riders
How do our Cnocs achieve such featherweight fingertip braking control? It’s partly due to our exclusive micro-reach brake levers, narrow diameter handlebar and custom-made super-slim handlebar grips, which all combine to allow little hands to hold their brakes comfortably. It’s partly due to fitting brake arms that are the perfect length for the size of wheel. It’s partly due to the special modifications our mechanics make when they set up every Cnoc. It’s entirely due to how all of these things work together.
Lightweight wheels make for effortless riding
The Cnoc’s wheels are the ultimate expression of our Islabikes philosophy. Every part from spokes to tyres are designed together to give big performance in a small but perfectly formed package.
Smaller wheels are inherently stronger than bigger ones, and because child riders are lighter than adult riders a Cnoc’s wheels don’t need to be overbuilt. With this in mind we design our light alloy rims and narrow hubs to be laced together with the minimum number of spokes per wheel to give the strength needed without the weight that isn’t. What’s more our narrow hubs are less likely to accidentally catch feet or ankles than wider ones, and, just in case they do we fit flush, domed wheel bolts.
To match the lightweight rims, each Cnoc has lightweight proportionally designed Islabikes tyres with 72tpi construction. The all-purpose tread is fast enough to flatter little legs but surefooted enough for off piste play, whilst reflective sidewalls and a puncture resistant Kevlar protection improve safety.
The perfect progression from scooting to pedaling
Exclusive chainguard, size-specific aluminium cranks with a narrow Q-factor and Islabikes pedals, designed to rest at the perfect angle for set off. All combine to ensure a confident switch from scooting to pedalling.
We’ve custom-made our cranks to narrow the Q-factor – the horizontal distance between the pedals. But why is Q-factor important?
With a wide Q-factor a rider with shorter legs will find their legs going out to the side when pedaling at a far greater angle than a rider with longer legs. This increased angle is uncomfortable and makes pedaling less efficient because part of the pedaling force is going off sideways rather than downwards. Not only that, the sideways forces can make the rider sway as they pedal, upsetting steering and making learning difficult.
By reducing the Q-factor we bring the riders feet closer together, instantly improving pedaling ergonomics.
That’s not the only benefit. A low Q-factor means we can lower the bottom bracket closer to the ground meaning children can get their feet down when they want to stop, thereby feeling safer in the saddle.
Our lightweight chainguard keeps fingers safe and trousers clean. It even clips on and off tool-free for easy wheel removal. Finally, we spec small chainrings selected for each Cnoc to keep gearing easy so little legs can pedal effortlessly.
Perfectly shaped saddles for little bottoms
A child’s hips are far narrower than an adult’s so we created our own range of saddles that are proportional to the size of rider. Our saddles also ensure the rider uses the main part of their saddle and sits comfortably in the correct position relative to the pedals.
