Sizing

Important – The new Islabikes Cnocs have been re-sized to give each child the benefits of the biggest possible wheel size. If your child has tried an older Cnoc, the fit will be different to our current range. It is vital that you measure your child and use the size chart to select the correct model.

Age is a rough guide, but the physical size of your child will determine which Cnoc fits. Our minimums are absolute - your child must meet or exceed both measurements for a safe and comfortable fit. Don’t be tempted to “size up” for your child to “grow into” – they won’t be able to ride it.

Take the following two measurements.

Inside leg:

  1. 1. Stand your child back to a wall in socks, with their feet flat on the floor.
  2. Place a book between their legs.
  3. Slide the book up the wall until it contacts the crotch firmly.
  4. Mark the wall at that point.
  5. Measure from the mark to the floor.

Height:

  1. Place the book flat on the head.
  2. Mark where the bottom of the book touches the wall and measure from the mark to the floor.

Learning to ride a bike is one of life’s milestones.

Most children develop sufficient coordination to balance and pedal somewhere between 3 ½ and 4 ½ years old. This development happens quite suddenly and until it is reached there is little point in trying to get them to ride, but once it is reached they should learn quite quickly. A few children will learn as young as 2 ½, but this is generally rare.
