Cnoc safety notice – issued -09-09-2019

 

Applies to Islabikes Cnoc 14 large bikes sold between 10th September 2018 and 7th August 2019.

It has come to our attention that it is possible for the handlebars on Cnoc 14 large bikes to be damaged in transit.

We have received one report of handlebars being snapped on arrival with a customer.

It is possible that your bike’s handlebars may have received a similar blow in transit and could be unsafe to use.

 

How to check for affected handlebars

Handlebars that have been damaged in transit will exhibit visible evidence of cracks. Please conduct a visual check as follows:

 

 

A crack may be obvious or may appear as a slight silvering up against the weld, as pictured here.

 

What to do next

If there is no evidence of a crack developing no further action is required.

If there is evidence of a crack:

  • Cease riding the bike immediately
  • Contact us so we can arrange to replace your handlebars
